INCLUSION

& SEN Support

GEMS Wellington Academy - Al Khail, is an inclusive school

At GEMS Wellington Academy – Al Khail, we are committed to inclusive education and welcome students with a wide range of learning needs, including English Language Learners, Students of Determination, and gifted students. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where every child feels valued, included, and empowered to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

We follow the GEMS vision for inclusive education, ensuring all students receive the support they need in a common learning environment with their peers. Our dedicated Inclusion Team, including Directors of Inclusion, SENCOs, specialist teachers, ELL staff, and counsellors, works across the school to provide tailored support.

Teaching Assistants support classes from FS1 to Year 6, and Level Three students (as per KHDA guidelines) receive one-to-one assistance with a Learning Support Assistant, funded by parents. Level One and Two students receive classroom and small group support at no extra cost.

Families are encouraged to share any relevant educational documents (e.g., IEPs, specialist reports) to help us plan effectively. Admission is not conditional on a medical diagnosis, and we follow KHDA guidance in rare cases where the school may not be a suitable fit.

Our team collaborates with external specialists and offers parental engagement sessions to strengthen home-school partnerships and ensure each child thrives.
