WEK Athletes Make Waves at the DASSA Aquathlon Championships

June 2025

GEMS Wellington Academy - Al Khail is proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of our U13 and U15 Aquathlon Teams at the recent DASSA Championships held at Hamdan Sports Complex. Facing intense competition and soaring temperatures, our student-athletes demonstrated remarkable resilience, determination, and team spirit.

The U13 Girls’ Team delivered an outstanding performance, securing 1st place overall. Special congratulations go to Berrin, Tara, and Alya, who finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th respectively, showcasing the depth of talent and teamwork within the squad.

A standout moment of the day came from Fabio De Armas, who dominated his race for the second consecutive year, finishing a remarkable 23 seconds ahead of the runner-up. His continued excellence reflects the dedication of both our athletes and coaching staff in the Swimming and Endurance Sports Programme at WEK.

Events like these highlight the strength of our Elite Sports offering and the importance of nurturing both physical and mental resilience. We’re incredibly proud of all our athletes who took part, they embody the spirit of WEK sport and set an inspiring example for the wider school community.

Well done to all involved, we can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
