A Level Results – 2020 

GEMS Wellington Academy - Al Khail, achieves Outstanding A level results in 2020.   

Key headline statements: 

  • 100% pass rate (A*-E) 
  • 49% of all A level entries were graded at an A*-A 
  • 19% of entries achieved an A* 
  • 38% of our students achieved at least 1A* in their 3 A level subjects 
  • 97% of entries achieved a grade C and above 
  • 77% of entries achieved a grade B and above 
  • Achieved a score of 1.16 (Grade 1) in our Alps A Level Provider Quality Indicator scale, together with a Grade 1 in our quality of teaching and learning.  This means that the progress of our students made from the quality of teaching across the curriculum, regardless of subject choice is in the top 5% or better of schools globally.

A-Level Result Highlights

 

Past Years

GCSE Results 2019

Our Year 11 students sat their GCSE and iGCSE exams in 2019.

The cohort of 39 students achieved outstanding results.

  • 95% of our students achieved at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above
  • Almost half (47%) of GCSE results achieved were at Grades 7-9
  • 26% of all GCSE results were at Grades 8 or 9
  • 12% of all GCSE results were at Grade 9

GCSE Results 2018

Our first Year 11 students sat their GCSE and iGCSE exams in 2018.

The cohort of 34 students achieved some outstanding results.

  • 45% of grades achieved were at 7+ (equivalent to A*/A) – this is compared to a UK figure of 21%
  • 67% of results were at 6+ (equivalent to A* - B)
  • 24% of grades achieved were at grades 8 and 9 (equivalent to A*)
  • 93% of all grades were at grade 4 or above (equivalent to C) – this is compared to a UK figure of 69%
  • 95% of students achieved at least grade 4 (equivalent to C) in English Language and Science, and 88% of students achieved this in Maths.
