In our Foundation Stage at GEMS Wellington Academy Al Khail, we understand that having access to high quality childcare, beyond the school day, is important to you. We are therefore delighted to offer an exciting and engaging extended care programme that aims to build on key skills that form the foundations of child development and provide you with a convenient alternative childcare option.
The programme runs from 12:30pm to 2:40pm and will be open to all of our FS1 children from March 2017.
Our fully qualified and experienced teaching staff will plan an exciting and engaging programme of activities that will keep your child interested and stimulated all afternoon.

Singing Sunday’s play includes a mixture of music, dance and song based activities that will bring out your child’s creative talents.
Messy Monday’s play includes lots of messy fun that will have your child using their hands to explore and be creative.
Technology Tuesday’s play will allow your child to explore a range of ICT resources for different purposes.
Wiggle Wednesday’s play includes a relaxing afternoon of stretching, yoga and reflection where your child can learn to explore their emotions and develop their well being
What is the cost?
The programme is FREE!
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Children attending the programme must be three years of age.
What activities will be offered?
The programme will include a wide variety of different activities each day. These activities aim to enhance their personal, social and emotional growth, as well as their creative development and include: yoga, messy play, music and movement, creative time and more.
What times and which days of the week?
The programme will be open from Sunday – Wednesday from 12:30pm – 2:40pm each day.
What will the environment look like?
The provision will run in two specially prepared classrooms and will include a nap area, planned learning zones, messy play areas and technology zones that are similar to the high quality provision in our usual teaching classrooms.
Do I need to provide my child with a snack?
Yes. Parents will need to provide a simple, healthy snack that will be eaten before the children leave to go home.
Has the extended care been approved by KHDA?
Yes. The care programme has full approval and meets the requirements of an after school programme.
