  • Where is the school located?

    Located in Dubai Hills. Exit 18, Al Marabea Street (EAST) Al Khail Road, near The Dubai Hills Estate

  • Which curriculum do you offer at The Academy?

    GEMS Wellington Academy - Al Khail follows the British National Curriculum. In Foundation Stage we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. In Key Stage 1-3 (Year 1 - 9) our Academy Curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum with adaptations to contextualise learning within our international setting. At Key Stage 4 (Year 10 & Year 11) a wide range of GCSE & IGCSE courses are being delivered. The Academy delivers the Ministry of Education’s curriculum for Islamic Education and Arabic Studies and Social Studies.

  • What are the school timings?

    FS1 to Year 6 begin at 7:50am while Year 7-13 start at 7:45am. Our FS1 children will finish their day at 12:30 pm, FS2 children at 1:30 pm, Year 1 to 4 at 2:45 pm, Year 5 and 6 at 3:00 pm and Year 7 to 13 at 3:10 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, all students will finish school at 12:00 pm.

  • How many foreign languages do you offer? 

    English is the main language of instruction. In addition, the school offers Arabic, French and Spanish.

  • Where do your teachers come from?

    All of our teachers are from the UK and all hold British Degrees.

  • Where do your students come from? 

    The Academy students are an eclectic mix of many nationalities from around the world, reflecting the diverse demographic of Dubai.

  • When does the school year begin and end?

    We follow the UAE School Calendar as set by the Ministry of Education. For 2022-23, the school year commences on Tuesday, August 30th and will end on Friday, July 7th, 2023. For more information on our school year, please see our school calendar.

  • Is there an application fee?

    We charge a non-refundable Application Fee of AED 500 + AED 25VAT upon submission of an application and prior to assessment. For offer holders, a non-refundable Deposit of 10% of the tuition fee is required in order to confirm a child’s place at The Academy. This payment is offset against the first term’s Tuition Fee.

  • What are your tuition fees?

    Tuition Fees for the 2022-23 Academic Year can be found under our “Fee page” and are starting at AED 43,941. 

  • How do I apply?

    Start your child’s registration by filling the form. Once you have submitted the necessary information, a member of our enrolment team will get in touch with you to proceed with your child's enrolment.

  • Can I make an appointment to discuss my child’s application?

    Yes. Our admissions team are here to help and will be more than happy to meet with you in order to guide you through the application process and answer any questions you may have. Please contact [email protected] in order to schedule an appointment.

  • Do you have transport to and from the school?

    Yes. We provide bus transport to and from the school via STS. 

  • Do you have full-time medical care for the students?

    Yes. Our school has three full-time nurses on site at all times, as well as a doctor. There is a dedicated Medical Centre for students who are feeling unwell in both our FS clinic and main school clinic.

  • Do you accommodate students that require extra learning support?

    Yes we are a fully inclusive school at The Academy. Please consult with our admissions team as early as possible for further guidance regarding our learning support provision.
