As a GEMS Education school, we are dedicated to offering our students a wide-range of opportunities to allow each student to develop their skills and pursue their individual interests. To facilitate this, we have both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Extra-curricular activities (ECAs) are offered from Foundation Stage 2 upwards.
For us, learning begins the moment our students come into school in the morning and continues until they leave. Our programme of activities is designed to be as broad as possible so that there is something for every student of every age. We encourage our students to be active, to develop existing skills but also to try new activities where they might discover previously hidden talents. We run a very large number of sports clubs, both for our elite sportsmen and women but also for those who are still developing their skills. This reflects our belief in sport for all and that all children should have the opportunity to improve, grow and make progress, regardless of their current level. We know that the development squads we run are much appreciated by our parents and students for the opportunities they offer. Of course we want our elite squads to do well, but our emphasis is on enjoyment, teamwork and skills development. Fair play and sportsmanship are also important.
The list of activities on offer varies from term to term. Most activities are free, of charge, but when they are offered by an external provider there is a charge. Our current ECAs include:
Model United Nations, World Scholars Cup, debating, Handwriting, ICT, football, cooking, sewing, digital learning, maths intervention, jewelry making, creative writing, Quran, homework club, PE games, messy play, puppet making, clay modelling, dodgeball, yoga, tag rugby, art, drama, prop design, swimming, speech and drama, Lego, choir, origami, rounders, ukulele, cricket
